Though the number of companies that provide tree care and services in the Springfield market is upwards of 65, getting a price from a local tree care company can be a challenge. I know, because I have been working with trees in the Springfield market in one capacity or another since 1983. At the conclusion of a bid or consult, potential customers will ask which companies I would recommend—those that will return phone calls and put bids in writing. As such, I have compiled a list of 5 tree-service companies that, in my opinion, are the best out there. I have also included my thoughts regarding the strengths of each company.
To the best of my knowledge, all companies below have the needed insurance, serve Springfield and the surrounding area, and have a good reputation in this market. In addition, I personally know 3 of the 5 business owners.
All About Trees is located in Battlefield, and is a larger company with several certified arborists that specialize in modern climbing techniques. The owner is a Board Certified Master Arborist (BCMA) and a champion tree climber. Services include tree pruning, removals, stump grinding, and tree planting to residential and commercial clients.
Mike’s Tree Service is located in Nixa and has certified arborists on staff. Services include tree pruning, removals and stump grinding to residential and commercial clients. Mike is a Navy Veteran; his son and daughter work with him in the business.
Hansen’s Tree Service is located in Hollister, south of Springfield and north of Branson, with a main office in the St. Louis area. They have several arborists on staff to serve your needs. They are a larger company with a long list of services, including tree care, lawn care, forest management, mulching and recycling of wood products along with mulch and compost sales.
Arborcare of the Ozarks is located in Springfield with a specialized list of accreditations, including certified arborists and registered consulting arborists. Services include diagnosis of tree and landscape problems, hazardous tree and risk assessment, and tree and landscape appraisal. and the list goes on. When you need to know the value of a damaged tree or receive a second opinion on that disease diagnosis, this is your company.
Ryan Lawn and Tree is located in Springfield. Their main office is in the KC area, and they have several branches in the Midwest. The list of services includes tree care, lawn care, irrigation, mulching and tree planting along with other services. Ryan Lawn and Tree is the largest company on the list in the Springfield market, with many certified arborists and degreed employees. When you want one company for several items, this is a good choice.
My hope is that this helps you get a couple more bids and allows you to feel confident in your buying decision. No two trees are exactly alike, so comparing apples to apples is always a challenge.
