Characteristics: The Dawn Redwood is a beautiful tree that grows in a cone shape to 100 ft. tall. It is related to and closely resembles the bald cypress and redwood trees. The foliage is light green in spring, matures to deep green in summer, and turns red-bronze in fall. The tree then loses its foliage and cones in late fall.
